Wine industry marketeers and surf buddies Janneman Solms and Dane Raath's new venture focuses on export quality wines in partnership with some of their favourite winemaking friends, allowing them to create wines that are a little bit different from the styles you would associate with South Africa.

The Rad Red is surprisingly light with an oakiness that makes you think it is more than it's 11.5%. The wine is lightly filtered so do expect some sediment with lots of fragrant fruits like cherries and raspberries. It reminds me of south of France red wines that have that softness to them - it's a pretty cool way to label a bottle too.
