Rich Dark Fruit and Spice Notes

Tasting Notes:The 2016 vintage provided spectacular growing conditions.  The long generous ripening period, combine with the mineral laden, schist based loess soils to produce exceptional fruit.  The wine is wonderfully aromatic, with elegant texture and pure, spice laced, crushed berry fruit flavours.

Food Pairing: This wine will match perfectly with a roast dinner, a stew or beef bourguignon

Sporting Connection: Lindsay McLachlan is a former international rugby referee, who controlled 8 test matches during his career which ended in 1994 as the game was about to turn professional. His sons, Fraser and Blair are both involved in the family winery and played rugby, cricket and basketball up to the provincial age group level. Whilst no longer formally involved in the game, the rugby and refereeing fraternity is a tight group and current and former players and referees regularly visit Peregrine when visiting the deep South.

Pinnacle is our ultimate expression of Central Otago Pinot Noir and pays homage to an exceptional vintage. It is the culmination of our viticulture and winemaking craft. We reserve the best fruit from what we consider the best of our three vineyard sub-regions (Gibbston, Bendigo or Lowburn) to produce Pinnacle.
